Црквата „Фрауенкирхе“ во Дрезден

Дрезден, Германија

The Frauenkirche church in Dresden is one of the most important evangelical churches in the city. It was built in the Baroque style by order of the Saxon King of Poland - August Silniot in the period 1726-1743.

In the Second World War, on February 13, 1945, it was completely destroyed by the bombing. Due to a lack of funds, the GDR authorities decided not to restore the church, but to keep it as a memory of what happened.

After the unification of Germany, the collection of funds for the restoration of the church began on a civil initiative. The official opening was in 2005 with a festive ceremony and the consecration of the church, conducted by the Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony, Jochen Boll.
