The Church of San Cataldo or Saint Cataldo is located in Piazza Bellini near Palermo's Cathedral Square. It was built in 1160 by Maio di Bari on top of old churches that stood in this place. The interior columns and the marble floor of today's church are completely preserved. "San Cataldo" is distinguished by an inspiring building, but it cannot be compared with the beautiful mosaics of the church of "La Martorana", which is located on the north side. The church "San Cataldo" is distinguished by its Norman architecture.
