The Church of San Pietro was built in the middle of the 14th century, but in 1613 it was seriously affected by an earthquake, and in 1693 it was destroyed by another one. The facade of the church has been renovated in the Baroque style, and the columns are decorated with statues of the apostles.
The interior of the church has three naves. In one of the chapels on the right, there is a beautiful altar with the statue of the "Madonna of Trapani", a copy of the work by Francesco Laurana (1430 - 15902) and in the other niche in the right gallery there is a wooden group of sculptures by Benedetto Civiletti (1845-1899). The church is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
