The church "St. Peter" is located in the historical center of Vienna, near Graben Street, where it is believed to have been built on the remains of a temple from the Roman period. Its construction began on the initiative of Emperor Leopold I in 1701, according to the plans and under the direction of Gabriele Montani. In 1703, the construction was continued by the architect Johann Lux von Hildebrandt, and thus one of the most impressive examples of Baroque architecture in the Austrian capital was born.
