Saint Agnes Church is located in Piazza Navona, in the center of Rome. It is the work of Francesco Borromini. It was built at the end of the 17th century, by order of Pope Innokenius X. In this place, many years ago, the martyr Agnes showed her bravery. Saint Agnes was born in 291 in Rome. She dedicated her whole life to Christianity, refused to marry and was sentenced to death, willingly accepting the fate of a martyr. When she was 20 years old, mass persecutions of Christians began. Until the very end, Agnes demonstrated her devotion to the Christian faith. Her skull can be heard in the church.
