
The Church of the Holy Spirit is the tallest and most famous church in Heidelberg. It is located on the Market Square, in the immediate vicinity of the Heidelberg Castle and forms the silhouette of the valley together with it. Its construction began in 1398 and ended in the middle of the 15th century. The main part of the church is built in Gothic style. After the reconstruction at the beginning of the 18th century, the roof was renewed in the Baroque style.
