Santa Catalina was built in the 14th century in the Baroque style in the Old Town of Valencia and is one of the many old buildings that form the historical and architectural heritage of Valencia. The impressive bell tower and remarkable stonework make it one of the most attractive churches in the city.
It is the first beautiful building that is noticed in the historic center when arriving from the Placa del Ayuntamiento. The tall octagonal tower was added to the temple in the 12th century. Inside the Santa Catalina you can see the original Gothic interior. The space is small, but especially beautiful, surrounded by colored windows. Even today, religious services are regularly held in the temple.
