The Trevi Fountain is known not only for its baroque grandeur, but also for the belief that if you throw a coin into it, you will surely return to the Eternal City. The first architectural plans for the construction of Di Trevi were made by Bernini and Pietro da Cortona by order of the Vatican. After the death of Pope Urban III, the construction was stopped, and the fountain was completed in the 18th century by Nicola Salvi. It served as the facade of a large palace, decorated with bas-reliefs and statues.
