Teteven is a small town located at the foot of the Stara Planina, along the banks of the river Vit. Everyone who visits it remains strongly impressed by the surrounding nature and the spirit of the past, which is present in the cultural monuments and the architecture of the houses - even Ivan Vazov was inspired by the wonderful nature. Among the celebrities of the city is the local historical museum with a rich collection, representing the period of Altan Teteven - the "golden Teteven". Teteven was considered one of the most important craft centers in the past.
