статуите на Гуанчес

Тенерифе, Шпанија

The Canary Islands were home to one of the most mysterious groups of ancient people known as the Guanches. Although it is not clear how they arrived on the islands, it is known that they shared some common cultural characteristics with the ancient Egyptians and their building style, which was later transferred to the South and Central America.

In order to get a better idea of the outlook of this population, statues of Guanches have been erected in many places throughout the islands. The most interesting is the composition that represents the kings of the Guanches in the city of Candelaria. All 9 statues are lined up in a square near the city's basilica and proudly look out over the sea.
