Старосел

Starosel is a village in Southern Bulgaria, which gained secular popularity in 2000. The Thracian objects near the village were discovered and studied by the team of Dr. Georgi Kitov. There he and his team discovered a Thracian cult complex without analogue in Thracology, as well as a mound and a sanctuary. The region is developing more as a tourist destination because of the large grape plantations and the favorable climate for their growth. In the village there is a well-maintained hotel complex with a winery that offers tours and tastings.
