Sirmione is a town in the province of Brescia, Lombardy region, northern Italylocated on the southern shore of Lake Garda.

The city has a rich historical past dating back to the 6th-5th century BC. In the 1st century BCE the area around Lake Garda, which is currently Sirmione, was a designated vacation spot for wealthy families from Verona. The Roman poet Gaius Valerius Catullus wrote many times about the beauty of this city and mentioned the villa he had here.

The main sights that can be visited in Sirmione are the old town, Scaliger Castle, Maria Callas Villa, Catullus Villa, Sigurta Park.
