Veneto is an administrative region in the northeastern part of Italy, one of the 20 regions in Italy. The population is about 5 million inhabitants, and its capital is Venice.
Nowadays, Veneto is one of the wealthiest and most industrialized regions in Italy, and its nature, history and architecture of the region make it the most visited places in Italy, with more than 60 million tourists a year.
The Veneto region is home to one of the oldest universities in the world, the University of Padua.
