Плоштад „Резиденплац“

Салцбург, Австрија

The Residenzplatz (Residence Square) is another testament to the beauty and abundance of baroque architecture in Salzburg. As the name of the square suggests, here is the residence of the archbishop of Salzburg. The buildings that form this architectural complex bear witness to the political and economic stability of the principality until the end of the 19th century. Today, official receptions, meetings and congresses are organized here. The square was laid out at the beginning of the 17th century. In the center stands a beautiful fountain with four equestrian statues, a later addition. The baroque church "St. Michael" is also located on the side of the square.
