Ситониa, Грција
Petralona is one of the most famous caves not only in Halkidiki, but also in the whole of Greece. The remains of the oldest man who inhabited the Greek lands were found here, and the cave itself was inhabited more than 600,000 years ago.
The archeological park is located about a kilometer out of Petralon. First discovered in 1959, the small entrance led to labyrinth of chambers in which they found many fossilized animal bones and a well-preserved human skull. There is museum is located next to the cave with many of the archeological finds.
