The ancient Thracian sanctuary of Perperikon is a monumental megalithic structure set in the rocks. It is located about 20 km from the town of Krdzhali, located on the eastern slopes of the Rhodopes. According to scientists, the sanctuary represents a temple of Dionysus, connected with the occult rituals of the Thracian tribe of Besi. Ceremonial rites were performed there with ogan and bino. Over the centuries, the complex turned into a city, which was destroyed in the IV century by the Goths.
