Orgosolo is located in the heart of the mountainous Barbagia region in central-eastern Sardinia. The surroundings of the city are filled with the remains of the ancient homes of the local population of the island - the homes of the yans, the tombs of the giants and the familiar dwellings of the nuragi. Towards the end of the 19th century, this small isolated town became known throughout Europe as a residence of bandits. A walk through the narrow streets of the town should not be missed. Orgosolo is unique with the numerous frescoes and graffiti on the walls of the houses with social, artistic and political themes, primarily related to the robber period of the city.
