The Xanthi Folklore Museum was built between 1860 and 1866 and is housed in a traditional property. The building is decorated with beautiful frescoes made by painters from Xanthi and Bavaria. The plans for the floor of the building are made of wax on silk and are kept in the museum. The collection contains local costumes and objects, drawings, embroidery, jewelry, agricultural tools, Thracian costumes and many other objects.
