Малага, Шпанија

Malaga is the second largest city in Andalusia (after Seville), with a population of 570,000. The city was founded in the 8th century BC. by the Phoenicians, with the name Malacca, later became an important Roman city. In the period between 71 and 1487 it was under Arab rule. During the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) it was one of the most active cities under Franco's dictatorship. Malaga is experiencing a real boom in foreign tourists and the coast (known as the Costa del Sol) is becoming a major tourist destination in Spain.
