The small town, also called Mala Zeya, was built just below the imposing Prague Castle in 1257. In this settlement connected to the old part of Prague under the Charles Bridge, a large number of German Catholics lived in the past. Soon after its complete destruction by fire in 1547, Mala Strana was rebuilt in the Baroque style. Thanks to the fire of 1547, the settlement earned the name "Pearl of Baroque Architecture". In Lesser Poland, you can see the famous statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague.
