La Pampa - known as the "Land of the Gauchos" is one of the 23 provinces of Argentina and is located in the central part of the country. It occupies ¼ of the territory of the country and has a population of slightly more than 300,000 inhabitants, and the total area is 143,440 km². The capital of the province is the city of Santa Rosa. It covers the territory between the Andes and the Atlantic Ocean. The pampa is a vast lowland and hilly area covered with fertile black earth soils and grassy vegetation. The Pampa is more densely populated. A large part of the grasslands has been destroyed, the lands are cultivated. Wheat and corn are mainly grown. Numerous herds of livestock, mostly cattle and sheep graze on the grazed pastures.
