
Kusadasi is located on the coast of the Aegean Sea. The village is 90 km away. from the third largest city in Turkey - Izmir. The population is approximately 50,000. Literally translated, the name of the city means "Bird Island", Kuş in Turkish - bird, Ada in Turkish - island. It is believed that the name comes from a small stone island in the shape of a bird's head, located close to the old harbor in the city. Before the 15th century, the city was called "Scala Nova" and was a major trade center, especially for merchants from Venice and the Mediterranean. The city is located in the immediate vicinity of the ancient city of Ephesus.
