
Cortina d'Ampezzo is a city in the province of Belluno, northeastern Italy, often referred to simply as Cortina. It is located at 1,211 meters above sea level, at the foot of the Dolomites mountain range. Its population is around 6,150 inhabitants, and during the season the population reaches up to 50,000 inhabitants.
Due to its favorable location, Cortina is a popular winter resort that ppeals to visitors with its ski slopes, clean nature and beautiful natural landscapes.
In 1956, the city hosted the Winter Olympics.
