Dubrovnik Cathedral was built in the 12th-14th century in the Romanesque style. According to local legend, the construction was financed by a donation from the English king Richard the Lionheart, after he was shipwrecked and washed ashore by the sea waves near Dubrovnik. Today's church was built after a major earthquake in 1667. In the sacristy, harmful artifacts are kept, among which are the remains of the patron of the city - St. Vlas.
