Zognefjord is the largest fjord in Norway and the second largest in the world. This is the longest and deepest fjord in the country. It stretches 204 km inland, and its waters reach a depth of 1,200 m. The slope measured above and below the water level reaches up to 2,100 m, and in some places the Zognefjord is more than 1,300 m deep. This is because that the surrounding mountains are as tall as the deep fjord itself .
