Eger is a town known for the production of high quality wine. Among the famous sights of the city is the Roman Catholic basilica, which is the second largest in Hungary in size. the municipality, Dobo Square, the Church of the Minorities, the fortress - in historical terms, one of the most important military battles of the Hungarian people was fought here. Led by the legendary commander Istvan Dobo, the brave defenders of Eger stopped the Turkish army in 1552, thus preventing the conquest of Hungary.
