Dusseldorf is the capital of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Located on the right bank of the Rhine River, in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr region, Dusseldorf (together with Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Munich and Hamburg) is one of the five largest economic, transport, cultural and political centers in Germany. Here are the headquarters of many large companies, including E.ON and Henkel Group. In Dusseldorf there are two ports, several higher education institutions, the largest of which are the Dusseldorf Academy of Fine Arts and the "Heinrich Heine" Dusseldorf University.
