Дворецот "Палацо Векио"

Фиренца, Италија

"Palazzo Vecchio" - an old palace, is one of the most important sights of Florence. It was started to be built in 1299. The palace is crowned with a gallery reminiscent of a fortress. Above the building of the palace is the Arnolfo Tower (named after the architect who completed it in 1310). During the period of Cosimo I from 1540 onwards it became the residence of the Medici. From 1865 to 1871, when Florence was the capital of the kingdom, the palace housed the Chamber of Delegates and Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1872 until today it is a building of the municipality. There are various and beautifully decorated rooms in the building - among them the Lily Hall is the most notable.
