The magnificent Palazzo Chiaramonte functions today as an exhibition hall. It is located in the eastern part of Piazza Marina in Palermo. The object was built in 1307 by the rich Chiaramonte family, which is characterized by great wealth. Everything in the palace is built with style.
A special impression is made by the decoration around the windows, which gives it the beginning of a new decorative style, later spread throughout the world. The residence of the Chiarmonte family was appropriated by the Spanish viceroys and handed over to the Inquisition in the 15th century. At the end of the existence of the Inquisition in 1782, the palace was turned into the seat of the judiciary.
