"Belvedere" is a palace complex in Vienna in baroque style. It was built at the beginning of the 18th century by the architect Lucas von Hildebrandt as a summer residence for one of the greatest colonels of the time, Prince Eugene of Savoy. After his death, the palace was bought by Maria Theresa.
The complex consists of two main buildings (upper and lower), which together with the gardens around them form a beautiful baroque ensemble. Today, the two buildings of the palace house the Austrian Gallery with a rich collection of works by Gustav Klimt and other important Austrian artists.
