
Vevey is a city in Southwestern Switzerland, located on the northeastern shore of Lake Geneva, 18 km. southeast of Lausanne and 6 km. northwest of Montreux.
Today, Vevey is a resort town known for the fact that personalities such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Graham Greene and Henrich Sienkiewicz lived and worked here. In Veve, a large part of his life was celebrated by the world-famous actor Charlie Chaplin. A life-size statue of the actor was erected in his honor.
