
San Michele in Foro is a Roman Catholic basilica in the city of Lucca, Italy. It was built on top of an ancient Roman forum. It was built for the first time in 795, after which it was renovated in 1070 by Pope Alexander II. The facade of the cathedral is remarkable, with numerous sculptures, most of which were redone in the 19th century. At the top of the building is placed the statue of the Archangel Michael, surrounded by two angels.
