The super modern aquarium was opened in 1995 and is the largest in Europe. It contains about 5,000,000 liters of water and represents the Mediterranean flora and fauna as well as specimens from the tropical region. 11,000 marine inhabitants of 450 species live here: turtles, crocodiles, penguins, crabs, seahorses, eels, etc. The biggest attraction is the ocean aquarium, which is unique in Europe, and offers walks down the 80-meter tunnel.
For several years this has been one of the most visited facilities in Barcelona.
