Аквадуктот на Клавдиј

Рим, Италија

Claudius I was a Roman emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty who ruled the Roman Empire from 41 to 54. He built the Aqua Claudia aqueduct in the period from 38 to 52. The Aqua Claudia started from the Anio River to Merano Equi in Lazio. It is 70 km long, with 10 km of arches, some of which reach a height of 50 meters. The aqueduct transported 191,000 m3 of water per day, and its branch - Arcus Neroniani - supplied all 14 districts of Rome with water. Roman aqueducts are considered marvels of engineering.
