The Koutubiyya is the largest mosque in Marrakech. Its name derives from the Arabic language and means "book". She got this name because there were many sellers of manuscripts in the past. The mosque, built in the 12th century, represents the history of the Almohads (a Muslim Berber dynasty that had influence in North Africa and Spain in the 12th and 13th centuries). The temple leaves an impression with its tower, 69 m high and 12.8 m wide, and in its interior there are 6 buildings located one above the other.
