source of the Blue Nile

The source of the Blue Nile is located near the city of Bahir Dar, on the southern shore of Lake Tana in Ethiopia. From here, the river begins its long journey toward Sudan and Egypt, where it joins the White Nile to form the Nile River. The source is a beautiful area with lush vegetation and tourist attractions, including boat rides and bird watching.
