,,The Seven-Coloured Earth''

Порт Луис, Маурициус

The Seven-Coloured Earth is a unique natural phenomenon located in the Chamarel plain on the island of Mauritius. It consists of sand dunes made up of seven distinct colors—roughly red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow.

The sands were formed through the decomposition of volcanic rock in clay-rich gullies, and were further shaped by rainfall, creating striking visual effects. It is believed that the different shades result from the cooling of molten volcanic rock at varying external temperatures.
