The House of Wonders

The House of Wonders is one of the most famous buildings in Stone Town, built in 1883 by Sultan Barghash bin Said. It was the first building in Zanzibar to have electricity and an elevator, which gave it its name. Its architecture combines Arab, Indian, and European elements, and today it serves as a museum showcasing the history and culture of Zanzibar and the Swahili people.
