Mount Meru is located in northern Tanzania, near the city of Arusha and Serengeti National Park. Standing at 4,566 meters, it is the second-highest mountain in the country and the fifth-highest in Africa. Meru is an active stratovolcano surrounded by rich flora and fauna, including forests with exotic birds, monkeys, and large mammals. Climbing the mountain is popular among hikers and often serves as acclimatization before attempting Mount Kilimanjaro.
