Isis was originally a mysterious goddess who lacked her own dedicated temples, but she grew in significance as the dynastic age progressed, until she became one of the most crucial idol of ancient Egypt. Her cult subsequently spread throughout the Roman Empire, and Isis was respected from England to Afghanistan.
Built to honor the goddess Isis, this was the last classical Egyptian style. Construction began around 690 BC, and it was one of the last outposts where the goddess was worshipped.
